LEAH SMITH
The first recipient of funding from the foundation was a young girl, from Fort Wayne Indiana, Leah Smith. The foundation provided funding for a heart transplant and continues to help with the cost of life-long medical treatment. Today at the age of 15, Leah is a young woman perusing her dreams and speaking at events to talk about the importance of organ donations. Leah has reach dreams she never thought would be possible. She is currently training and would like to become an Olympic ice-skater.
The Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation continues to provide assistance to Leah to help with the cost of a lifetime of medicine.
